  First the good:A perfect location for walking throughout Sitka. Easy communication with host. Spacious efficiency. Not so good: long, steep staircase to access apartment. Lacking in attention and upkeep (e.g. bathroom drain plugged up, kitchen cabinet missing pull handle), saggy mattress. Minimal amenities. No Kleenex, no salt or pepper in kitchen. Door to apartment is tricky to keep closed. No blackout curtains.

  The property is in an excellent location if you don't wish to rent a car or rent a car for a day or two which I did. The property manager was extremely friendly and quick to respond when I called. There is a staircase leading up to the rooms, which could be strenuous for some. I will choose this location when we return next year.
